GoToMyPC Supports Healthcare Professionals Around the World

GoToMyPC has been used in a wide variety of applications across many different industries and occupations. One of the best parts of the product is its ability to serve different needs depending on the use case, and we have seen some amazing applications of our products over the years. One area where we have seen a great amount of usage is in the healthcare industry.

GoToMyPC is helpful for healthcare professionals and their staff because it allows them to connect into their shared devices from anywhere, on their own time. In particular now, as COVID-19 creates stress, strain, and increased work for our medical professionals around the country, having the tools to complete work and be successful are essential.

One use case for GoToMyPC was at San Mateo Rheumatology in California, which is a private medical practice that has been in business for over 25 years. They treat about 100 patients each week for joint problems and autoimmune diseases. Janeen Thompson, Office Manager, handles many of the business matters that go along with patient care. On top of this role, their billing specialist recently left the practice, and Thompson simply didn’t have enough time in her day to take on the extra duties. Thompson also lives 50 miles from the practice with a 90-minute commute on winding, mountain roads which have been problematic during inclement weather.

She tried staying late in the office and skipping vacation to get everything done, but these solutions were not sustainable. The practice experienced cash-flow issues since the patient billing was not completed in time, so the practice needed a more sustainable solution that would both benefit the business and improve quality of life for its employees.

Janeen was introduced to, and implemented a GoToMyPC solution which solved many of her challenges. Now, GoToMyPC lets Thompson remotely use her work computer as if she were sitting right in front of it. This way, she can access QuickBooks to complete her accounting duties and the electronic health records and billing software to process insurance claims.

By implementing GoToMyPC as a remote access solution, Janeen saves 100 miles per week in driving and 6 hours per week in commuting time, and is able to complete her duties efficiently and on time.
